Regional Convention and Competition 2023 – That’s A Wrap!
The sun has now set on Region 34’s 2023 Convention and Competition but the memories will remain for many years. After being in a forced hiatus since 2019 (thanks to crummy COVID), Sweet Adelines Australia came together to rise, shine and sing at Convention in Brisbane. And what a convention it was! From the fabulous mass sing to the brilliant Harmony Sunday, it was a joyful, fun filled and awe inspiring event.
Congratulations to everyone who crossed the stage. You are all superstars. Special congratulations must go to champion chorus, Endeavour Harmony, champion quartet, Skylark, first place AA chorus, Endeavour Harmony, first place A chorus, Melbourne Chorus, and Brava Award recipients Hunter Women of Note and 3 Docs & A Diva Quartet. Shout out too to Redland Rhapsody Chorus and Rise Quartet for their most improved awards, Rose McGee and Rae Knight for their Hall of Fame induction and both Redland Rhapsody and Cocktail Hour Quartet for their joint Lindsey Dyer award. You have all made Region 34 very proud.
An absolute tonne of hard work went into the planning, preparation and staging of this year’s convention and the RMT wishes to thank everyone involved in putting on such a wonderful event. Particular thanks go to Megan Bishop (Chair of Regional Convention) and also Kate Hawkins and Debra Griffiths, co Competition Coordinators.
The worst thing about convention is that we have to wait 12 months until we get to do it all over again. Bring on 2024!
