A lot has happened in our world since the last OzChords! A highlight was hosting around 100 Sweet Adelines from South-East Queensland and Northern NSW for our combined choruses August A Cappella event. We worked on Emily Moriarty’s arrangement of Weather With You and had a chance to perform for each other.

The next big event was Brisbane Sings 2025. As well as joining hundreds of singers from across Brisbane to sing three mass songs, we performed two of our own songs for the audience. There were many highquality performances from other choirs, and we received lots of positive feedback on our set.

October saw us perform in the Redland Rhapsody "Ready For Takeoff" concert, then in November we were in an a cappella musical produced by The Brisbane River City Clippers. It was called "Spy Cruise: Treble on the HIgh Seas"....as the title suggests, it was full of humour, intrigue and music. The premise was that a group of spies was tasked with destroying a brand-new, high-tech, nuclearpowered cruise liner. Our members were amongst the guests, and one of our members (Nat K) had a starring role as a spy! She did a fabulous job playing the sneaky Natasha.

We sang two songs as a chorus during the show, and Julie and Sharon were also featured in a quintet with current and past Clippers – including a beatboxer. They did an impressive job of theme songs from "James Bond", "Mission Impossible" and "The Pink Panther" -  the perfect accompaniment to spy action on stage. We also had the pleasure of singing a powerful six-part arrangement of Skyfall with the Clippers.

Amongst all of this, we had a chorus karaoke night, a Pride-themed rehearsal, a Spring-themed rehearsal, coaching from Lea Baker and Kelly Shepard, and attended (and performed in) an Australian National Choral Association workshop and concert. We have also welcomed five amazing new members – Janeen, Louise, Lynette, Riley and Terri. Along with Naomi, who joined us earlier in the year, these rockstars have learnt a tonne of music for all our performances. We’re so glad to have them in the fold.
